CCNP Wireless was first introduced in September 2009 as an independent certification for wireless professionals. Later, it was merged into the broader CCNP Enterprise certification track. Starting March 19, 2026, Cisco re-established CCNP Wireless as a dedicated wireless certification path again, making it easier for candidates to focus directly on wireless technologies and build a clear career path in enterprise Wi-Fi and WLAN solutions.
